Our Montessori & EYFS Curriculum

Nurturing Young Minds

At Millfield Montessori, we combine the best of two worlds: the freedom and child-led exploration of the Montessori method, and the structure and guidance of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum.

This approach allows us to meet all statutory learning goals while nurturing each child’s natural curiosity, independence, and confidence.

What We Teach

We cover the seven areas of learning from the EYFS through carefully planned Montessori-inspired activities

Our Approach

1

Montessori Materials

Montessori materials promote hands-on learning in child-centered environment. These materials encourage purposeful play, helping children develop essential skills problem-solving and creativity while fostering independence and a love for learning.

2

Observational Planning

Observation-based planning helps meet the unique needs of every child. By observing behaviours and preferences, we create tailored plans that enhance development. This inclusive approach ensures each child can thrive and reach their full potential.

3

Outdoor Learning

We embrace outdoor learning and practical activities to enrich children's understanding of the world. Our calm environments provide freedom of choice, fostering independence and selfdiscovery. Through hands-on experiences, children develop essential life skills and a love for learning.
